Hi , do you have an iPhone? If so anyone who is messaging you via iMessage (when you send, it's blue, not green), will not show up.

Only messages actually sent via SMS/MMS and received via SMS/MMS will show up on that list. Any third party messaging apps (even if they use your phone number like WhatsApp) such as iMessage, Facebook Messenger, Google Hangouts, etc., use data instead of SMS/MSS and do not show up in that log.
