No one can help me in retrieving a passcode to verify my identity for security

My situation is that I'm out of the country and will be for some time. So when I call customer service and tell them I'm having trouble logging into my account online, they try to send me a passcode via text, but I have no service in the Netherlands and I'm on wifi, which means I am unable to receive that passcode. Then, the email they have on file for me is out of date and I can't for the life of me remember the password for that email account (its been years since I used that email). I've also been on paperless billing for years and my bills are automatically withdrawn from my account. I'm so annoyed with at&t because I tried resetting my password for the online login, I entered my user id (which is my phone number) and my last name, 2 things I for sure know, and yet I receive an 'Error' message saying the combination of the two are not in the records. How can that be? How can my phone number and last name not be in the records?? I tried creating a new login with my last name and billing zip code, and that acts up as well. PLEASE!!! ANYONE!!! IF YOU CAN HELP ME, PLEASE LET ME KNOW!!!! since customer service is useless and provided no real solution.
