Re: Complaint - Privacy Violation

One more thing that should be noted... Anyone who has the passcode can change account options and switch plans and so on.... SO when you say "authorised users", it is not like a credit card issuer where every time you call you are asked to verify your identity.

It is possible that your daughter thought she had the passcode, they tried it, it did not work and Bryan assumed she did have it, and in the interest of customer service,  and in an effort to not frustrate a customer who -obviously- is a user,  by virtue of having a phone that is still up and running and one that has not been reported stolen or lost, he opted to simplify the process, helped her out by resolving her voicemail box issue... Another good deed that goes punished.

I was hoping that in one of your replies, you would elaborate on how is it that your privacy was violated.

YOU wrote:

We have 9 lines on our account and no one but the two of us should be able to make changes and certainly not the local branch manager.

Actually, not only is the ranch manager allowed to reset that passcode, but any AT&T associate can do this simply for those times when you may have forgotten your passcode and need it to be reset.

You also stated:

I wanted to speak to a customer service representative about my experience but was told to post on this forum to have the issue brought to the attention of AT&T corporate.

You have already spoken to a branch manager, and you yourself offered "How do you un-violate someone's privacy... IN other words, and aside from the apology that I presume you have already received, there is nothing else to be done, simply because there was no damage that was done! Whether you choose to bring it to the attention of corporate, is up to you... As I am sure they do have someone who will listen to you... At the end of the day, you drag it out further, stress yourself out more, only so that ou can end up getting it off your chest.... Spare yourself the energy and stress and move on to something else that needs your attention.

Either way, good luck!
