I have been on a plan with my Inlaw family for five years.
When my husband abandon me and our children my father-in-law offered to keep my line on the account because of the dire Financial situation his son had left us in. For almost a year I used the service without any problems with privacy or otherwise. When domestic violence with my ex became an issue again communication had to cease with him. not long after the cease of communication my phone started acting up then the service was shut off, only being able to use the device on Wi-Fi. I was told by the account holder that we had gone over our shared data plan and the data was turned off temporarily until the next billing cycle. This was not an uncommon event, although turning off mobile data has never disabled the calling or texting on my phone. I inquired about the takeover your bill option AT&T has with The account holder, things became very off at this point in talking with him. I started looking for my phone and found that all of the location and track services that AT&T offers had been purchased and activated on my phone. The discovery of the apps gave me reason to believe that The account holder was sharing my location information, and any other information gathered I'm sure, to my ex-husband. Who at this point had physically assaulted me twice, dodged a restraining order, tried to kidnap our three children, had physically assaulted his new spouse, stabbed a fellow gang member, and stolen and sold everything me or the children owned. The account holder was aware of the situation, he had given me refuge after the second physical altercation with his son. Unfortunately for whatever reason he decided to unlawfully begin using AT&T family map on my phone without my consent. Various members of his family had access to my phone, so I never received any message informing me of the service being activated. Since then because of Gmail being linked to everything all of my accounts of had to be shut down, my personal Skype account for visitation between children and father was hacked into, erasing important logs of contact between him and our children, documentation that was vital to our custody case, as well as proof of harassment towards me. many private emails between my lawyer and I, pictures and documentation of the abuse and many other important things were deleted. In the AT&T family map user guide and privacy laws it clearly states that an account holder cannot use The AT&T family map service for a line that is not being used by their child or a minor that they have parental rights over. it also states that the account holder must inform the user that the service will be activated. The user guide and privacy laws also states that the service cannot be for unlawful activities such as stocking, harassing or otherwise disturbing the peace of an AT&T user or the general public. It also states that my privacy rights cannot be violated by the account holder by the malicious use of the service. It also touches on sharing the information gathered (even lawfully gathered) is for personal use only and is not to be shared with anyone. Sharing the information when it will knowingly cause harm or fear of harm is also forbidden. I have since gotten rid of the phone and gotten my own line, but it has taken me some time to reconnect With the many doctors and other necessary contacts I had. I was checking the voicemail occasionally to retrieve my messages and give my new phone number. Unfortunately I cannot get into the voicemail anymore although I had just put a new password on it. I need to know how to get into my voicemail when it won't send me a code to reset the password. I am not an account holder, although with the given situation and the statements in the AT&T user guides and privacy guides, it states that if a user unlawfully or maliciously uses the service as he had then it is at AT&T's full discretion to disclose information of said account holder and or suspend or cancel their service. I have called AT&T many times I have filed a report with the police and AT&T. But I have gotten nothing but the runaround from AT&T customer support and because of it being an online thing the cops won't listen . I need to get into my voicemail, possibly my AT&T account to retrieve the vital data that was stolen, but no one will help me. Is there anything anyone knows that can point me in the right direction please help
