Bull.... updates

Is it right for at&t to allow samsung or other companies to send useless updates at the expense of their customers. 3 days into my billing cycle and I have no data left due to unnecessary and unwanted updates. At&t customer service's solution is to sell me more data...more money, more money, more money. I would have plenty of data if it wasn't for these bull... updates that provide me with unwanted and useless apps.
