I have just opened an ATT account (switching from VZW). It took 3 hours to move 5 lines over from VZW and I was told my phones would ship in a few days. A week later I called to see how things were and if I could track my new iPhones. 2 hours later on a Sunday night I was told all sorts of things about different departments needing to get involved and some not working on Sundays. At the end I was told that the person that initiated the order a week previously had done it incorreclty and they needed to cancel and redo 2 of the lines. We did that. I was told that I would receive a follow up email and I would be fine the next day (today). I called today since I didnt' get the email. I was told that none of what I had experienced last night was in the system and we needed to repeat. 90 mins later I was told I was fine again. I asked for something in writing to verify this. I was told that it was fine and I didn't need anything and would not receive it. Let's see but I expect they are lying to me again and I will be stuck again. I am assuming I will be lost forever if try to move back to Verizon so I am trying one more time. I am not even a customer yeat and I have spent over 6 hours on the phone trying to open my account and track my phones.
The people are nice but give lots of excuses about not having the right tools or needed another department as they can only do part of the process.
Is this par for the course with ATT? If so I should probably bail out and go back to VZW.
