Yesterday, 3/25/13 I received a flurry of text message alerts telling me that my address, email and contact phone numbers had been changed on my account. Since I know I had not been on the phone with AT&T anytime recently, and these text alerts are pretty immediate, I picked up the phone and called them right away. Turns out someone had logged onto my account (and was still logged in) and changed all of my info to an address in another state. They were also trying to add international features to my account but were unable to do so. I supposed a new phone would have been in their future but i'm not upgrade eligible, but I'm so upset that changing the SIM card could have been next. The rep on the phone was extremely helpful in all this and helped me secure my account and notated accordingly.
I do not know how they could have gotten access to my online account, I'm very aware of what not to do, give out info, visit nefarious sites, etc, so it wasnt something I did. My computer is also very secure as well.
Has anyone else experienced this or heard anything? At this point it looks very isolated, but in this day and age, you never know.
